Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.”
― Søren Kierkegaard
One of the biggest reasons I had for starting this writing project is that I love to read race reports. Especially when I am training for that race. I love the details! I love the photos! I love to visualize myself at the race in perfect race conditions doing exactly what I planned to do.
So I sat down to write some race reflections and add my stories to those that can be found on the interwebs. Then I actually reflected. Checking back at my race results in an attempt to organize my thoughts, I realize that I have not had that perfect race yet. There is always something I’d do differently. The numbers rarely reflect that effort I paid or the lessons I learned.
I’ll keep training. I’ll keep signing up for the races. And I’ll keep looking for that result that truly reflects the experience. Have you had a *perfect* race yet?
